The MSSPA is a nonprofit horse shelter located on the River Road in South Windham. The MSSPA’s mission is to protect the health and welfare of neglected and abused equines. Most of the equines have been seized by law enforcement, and when they arrive at the shelter the MSSPA staff and volunteers work together to rehabilitate the animals and place them in loving and supportive adoptive homes. If a horse can’t be adopted out into the community, they will live their life in sanctuary at the River Road farm.
