Food Joy is a Maine-based nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a robust and joyful atmosphere surrounding nourishment, food culture, and eating. Building on the belief that humans are dramatically more inclined to accomplish objectives made fun and easy, we seek to give children and families the tools to make obtaining and preparing nutritious, whole food more accessible, lighthearted, and fun. We believe that the ritual of cooking, eating together around a table, and civil conversation not only sows the seeds of a physically and emotionally healthy life, but also enables families and communities to foster the trust, generosity, and communication skills that are the foundation of a balanced life of joy and contribution. We seek to facilitate the enrichment that occurs through a joyous and robust food culture, because we believe it will ultimately play a profound role in healing our society on a broad, holistic scale.
