In May and June of 2021 Maine’s summer camps and other large-scale food serving entities were experiencing food-related issues to include delayed deliveries and product shortages. While some of the challenges were related to unfilled vacancies in employment, steps were necessary to ensure these facilities–many of them serving food to children–could combat these disruptions to maintain stable operation.
Maine’s Agricultural Resource Development Division met with stakeholders across the state’s food network to establish a list of resources, which is available to the public online.
This website consists of a listing of wholesale suppliers and foodservice distributors, with contact information and an overview of the items and services available. While this is a temporary effort, a new website associated with the Real Maine brand will carry the existing resource forward, and expand wholesale business opportunities throughout Maine.
