Peak Season is a Unity-based Maine foods distribution company that aggregates food from more than 70 Maine farms and food businesses to sell to restaurants, co-ops, farm stands, K–12 schools, and universities. Peak Season owner-operator Colleen Hanlon-Smith is also a co-owner of Daybreak Growers Alliance, which operates an 800-member, year-round farm share and food access programs throughout the state.
Peak Season sources from Maine farms and food producers statewide, delivers to wholesale customers in Waldo, Knox, Lincoln, Kennebec, Hancock, and Cumberland counties, and offers drop-shipment services statewide. A primary focus of Peak Season’s expansion in the upcoming years will be increasing the accessibility of Maine foods to K-12 schools, supported in part by the USDA School Food Systems Innovation Grant it received this year.
