It couldn’t be easier to make your own applesauce. We’ll show you how.

Peel and core your apples. Cut into chunks. This recipe will use about 6 cups of apples.

Add apple chunks to large saucepan with 1/2 cup of water, 1 tablespoon of salter butter, 1/2 teaspoon of lemon juice. Bring to a boil over high heat. Then reduce heat to low and cover. Simmer for 15 minutes (stir if needed).

Remove cover, add 1/4 cup of sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. Use more or less of these ingredients according to your personal preference. Stir mixture.

This easy apple sauce recipe uses basic ingredients and kitchen tools.

For chunky applesauce, use a masher to break up larger chunks. If you prefer it thin, let mixture cool and use a blender. Add water if your sauce is too thick.
