Pure maple syrup is a delicious ingredient in many recipes. It’s a traditional topping for pancakes, including buckwheat pancakes (ployes). Make mouthwatering flavor combinations by adding maple to your entrees. Maple is versatile to use as a glaze on vegetables, meats and seafood. Try this recipe for haddock! Maple is a good sweetener for homemade applesauce and baked goods like peanut butter cookies. It’s a distinct way to flavor your own whipped cream to dollop on fresh Maine berries. And, it can be a nice sweetener for tea and coffee drinks.
Just Two Maine Ingredients
This simple recipe uses two ingredients: pure Maine maple syrup and Maine milk. You can find both ingredients year-round.
- 8 ounces of milk
- 2 Tablespoons Pure Maine maple syrup – Robust flavor (means stronger maple taste than the lighter colors).

Make a maple milk steamer
Tip: You can make a piping hot maple steamer. It will warm you in the morning or evening as you toast the many ways to enjoy Maine flavors. If you don’t have a milk frother, you can steam the maple milk in a double boiler or in the microwave. Add it to a container with a lid (such as a tempered glass or stainless steel jar). Shake the container for 2 minutes until you create a foam. Voila! Now you have a two-ingredient steamed milk beverage to enjoy. Cheers!
