Real Maine / About Us / Blog / Seasons / Summer / 2022 Annual Springvale Farm Walk

9 am to 1 pm, Sunday July 24 in coordination with Maine Open Farm Day

Looking for a kid-friendly way to get outside, learn about Maine agriculture and stroll along a beautiful working landscape?

The sixth annual Springvale Farm Walk is a self-paced, family friendly farm walk, happening Sunday, July 24 from 9 am to 1 pm. Along the well-marked route, you can tour  ten farms raising vegetables, sheep, orchard fruit, berries and mushrooms. You’ll learn about how each farm offers something unique for their customers, and where and how you can find their products.

This is a special way to see the interconnected features of Maine agriculture. From the people, to Maine farm products and and the scenery, including farmland and woodlands that supports it all.

Farms will have refreshing drinks and items for sale. A light grab and go breakfast featuring local foods will be available for purchase at McDougal Orchards by Frannie’s Mini donuts. Later in the day, after the walk, from 4 to 6 p.m., a fundraiser and auction to benefit Three Rivers Land Trust will happen at McDougal Orchards.

The auction features plein air artworks by local artists on the theme “Paint the Working Landscape,” as well as gift certificates for unique experiences that celebrate the region. Music and refreshments will be provided.
